Sarah Jane Morris in Pompei

SARAH JANE MORRIS IN A VIDEO CLIP IN THE EXCAVATIONS OF POMPEII,

SONG “THE SEA” DEDICATED TO THE TRAGEDY OF MIGRANTS
Intense and poignant is the voice of Sarah Jane Morris, which bears a message of strong closeness to migrants of all backgrounds. It is the cry of solidarity which Pompeii expresses through the video clip, recorded in the small theatre of Pompeii and certain rooms of the Villa of the Mysteries, by the jazz singer along with guitarist Antonio Forcione. The concept of the video was born following a visit to the site which left the artists enchanted, inspiring them with the desire to pay homage to the ancient city with one of their songs with a strongly social message, “The Sea”, dedicated to the migrant tragedy in the Mediterranean Sea and exclusively recorded for the Superintendency of Pompeii. The song is part of the album “Compared to What”, an intense record musically speaking, but also from the point of view of the contents, with pieces dedicated to sensitive issues, such as that of refugees, violence against women and the insecurity over the future of the times in which we live.
The video can be seen today on the social media channels of Pompeii:
