MINISTER ALBERTO BONISOLI VISITS THE NEW POMPEII EXCAVATIONS of Regio V

The Minister of Heritage, Cultural Activities and Tourism, Alberto Bonisoli this morning, Friday 8 June 2018, visited the Pompeii excavations on the occasion of the opening day for the new excavations of the Regio V.

The General Manager of the Archaeological site of Pompeii, Massimo Osanna and the General Director of the Great Pompeii Project, General Mauro Cipolletta illustrated the progress of the excavations and the recent discoveries: the frescoes in the vivid colors of the domus of the Dolphins, the alley of the Balconies, the garden with the casts of the roots of the trees in 79 AD, but also the objects of daily living in a prestigious living room, the new frescoes and the electoral inscriptions come to light.

"Attention to heritage is one of the priorities of this legislature. Pompeii is a place of historical and archaeological excellence, as well as exemplary capacity for fruition and valorisation that are not mere instruments of profit, but contribute to the development of employment and to the revaluation of the numerous professions that our country expresses ". These are the words of the Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism Bonisoli at the first public exit in the role of Government representative. "I am a Minister, but I like to call myself a worker of culture" said Bonisoli after welcoming the work done by the Archaeological Park and underlined "both the importance of encouraging the inclusion of qualified professionals and the need for employment with serious contracts" ', therefore indefinitely ".
