The Documentary film ‘Pompeii: Eros and Myth’ comes to cinemas
FROM SEPTEMBER THE NEW SEASON OF GREAT ART AT THE CINEMA BY NEXO DIGITAL WILL FINALLY RETURN TO MEET ITS AUDIENCE
Among the programme of events is the docufilm ‘Pompeii: Eros and Myth’ in cinemas on the 9th, 10th and 11th November.
After the enforced break, the 2020 season of Great Art at the Cinema by Nexo Digital will return with four new titles.
Included among the scheduled showings will be POMPEII: EROS AND MYTH.
Pompeii is a place unique in the world, able to enchant the more than 4 million visitors who come every year from every part of the globe. It is from an awareness of this that POMPEII: EROS AND MYTH was born, produced by Sky, Ballandi and Nexo Digital, in collaboration with and with the scientific contribution of the ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK OF POMPEII, which offers a journey back in time two thousand years, and which will be shown in cinemas only on the 9th, 10th and 11th of November. The docufilm lays bare the myths and characters that have contributed to making this site immortal, frozen in time by the dramatic eruption of AD 79. From the love story of Bacchus and Ariadne to the mysterious relationship of Leda and the Swan, and from the thirst for blood which was sated by gladiatorial combats to the desperate search for immortality by Poppaea Sabina, POMPEII: EROS AND MYTH analyses the myths, the legends and the most secret aspects of the city. Conducting us through its cobbled streets is an exceptional narrator: Isabella Rossellini, under the visionary direction of Pappi Corsicato. Rossellini’s presence and voice will accompany us along a journey that will show how the myths and unearthed works of art have enchanted and inspired artists of the calibre of Pablo Picasso and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It is a dance which balances on the slender and invisible thread separating legend from reality, capable of spanning the centuries and inspiring the modern world.

For autumn 2020, Great Art at the Cinema will be exclusively distributed in Italy by Nexo Digital, alongside media partners Radio Capital, Sky Arte, MYmovies.it and ARTE.it, and in collaboration with Abbonamento Musei.
