“Pompeii: The Exhibition”

Simi Valley (California), Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum. 6 October 2018 - 21 April 2019. The exhibition shows a series of original finds from Pompeii, on loan from the National Archaeological Museum of Naples and the Archaeological Park of Pompeii. The exhibits include marble and bronze sculptures, jewels, ancient Roman coins and casts of bodies of eruption victims

These items, placed in specially reconstructed settings, tell the story of Pompeii, forgotten for centuries until it was rediscovered over 250 years ago.

There is a recreation of the catastrophic power of the Vesuvius eruption, with an experience using engaging computer-generated imagery (CGI).

Increasing the impact and the perception of devastation is the presence of casts of victims, in the positions they were found during the last moments of their lives.
