Sunday at the Museum
On the 3rd March 2019, as part of the “Sunday at the Museum” initiative, admission for all visitors will be free of charge. Due to the Winter opening hours being in effect between the 1st November and the 31st March, visitors may access the excavations of Pompeii during the following time slots:
- Pompeii, Oplontis and Stabiae: 8:30 - 17:00 (last entrance permitted at 15:30)
- Boscoreale: 8:30 - 18:30 (last entrance at 17.00)
If the number of visitors exceeds 15,000 before 12:00, the Archaeological Park of Pompeii reserves the right to close the ticket offices for one hour, in order to prevent a potentially excessive presence of tourists at any one time, which could jeopardise the safety and security of people and structures at the site. In order to guarantee the highest standards of protection for the site, as well as access and visitor enjoyment, security measures will be strengthened, via the expansion and reallocation of the security services.
