The archaeological sites of Villa Regina at Boscoreale, the Villa of Poppaea at Oplontis, Villa Arianna and Villa San Marco at Stabiae, the Libero D’Orsi Archaeological Museum at the Royal Palace of Quisisana in Castellammare di Stabia and the Castle of Lettere reopen to the public on the 3rd May.
The splendid Vesuvian archaeological villas reveal much about daily life, social organisation and productive activities during the Roman era. From the majestic Villa of Poppaea at Torre Annunziata, attributed to the second wife of Nero, to the nearby Villa Regina of Boscoreale which represents a well-preserved example of a rustic farm adapted to produce wine, with numerous dolia embedded in the ground, used for storing wine. While on the Varano hill at Castellammare loom the grand Stabian Villas, examples of aristocratic dwellings overlooking the Gulf and whose precious frescoes and furnishings, along with many others coming from all over the territory of ancient Stabiae, are displayed and preserved in the Libero D’Orsi Archaeological Museum at the Royal Palace of Quisisana.
The Castle of Lettere, in the municipality of the same name, also reopens to the public, with a visitor route which tells the story of medieval life in the castle, through an exhibition of crockery and weapons.
From the 3rd May, Pompeii will be introducing a new reduced rate of €10 for afternoon admission to the site starting at 15:30. Afternoon entrance will allow an extensive visit to the site, with reduced access to certain domus beginning at 16:00. The list of buildings which can be visited is available on the website at www.pompeiisites.org.
Until the 6th June, the site will remain closed on Mondays, but it will be open every day from the 7th June throughout the summer period, until further notice.
The site of Pompeii will be open as usual on the 1st May 2021.
The peripheral sites will be closed on Tuesdays but will otherwise be accessible during the usual summer opening hours (9:00 - 19:00 with the last entrance at 17:30/ last entrance to the Royal Palace of Quisisana at 18:30).
Entrance tickets to the sites can be purchased on the www.ticketone.it website, which is the only officially authorised online retailer, or at the ticket offices at Piazza Anfiteatro or Piazza Esedra for Pompeii, or at Oplontis for the Villa of Poppaea.
On Saturdays and Sundays across all sites, tickets can only be purchased online at the www.ticketone.it website, and must be purchased the day before the visit as per the Prime Ministerial Decree of the 2nd March 2021, art. 14. On weekdays, however, online purchase is also possible on the day of the visit, subject to availability.

The additional online advance sale fee is currently applicable only to the reduced rate ticket of €2.
Oplontis + Villa Regina (Boscoreale):

At the site of Pompeii, the time slots established to limit visitor numbers will remain in place according to the following regulations:
At the time of purchasing online, the visitor will be able to select an entrance time slot, which will permit a maximum of 500 people to enter within every 15 minute period, until 13:00. After 13:00, a maximum of 300 people will be permitted per time slot. The ticket must be shown at the entrance, either directly on a smartphone or tablet (QR Code), or as a paper copy previously printed at home, and then kept in order to be scanned at the exit turnstile. A maximum delay of 10 minutes beyond the time slot indicated will be tolerated, both for visitors and guides.
For those in possession of the Pompei365 pass, its period of validity will be extended by the number of days corresponding to the duration of the site’s closure as a result of the health emergency.
At the site of Oplontis and the Stabian Villas, a maximum of 40 people will be permitted to enter within every 15 minute period.
At Villa Regina, 15 people will be permitted to enter within every 30 minute period.
At the Royal Palace of Quisisana, 15 people will be permitted to enter every 15 minutes.
At each site, visitors will be subjected to temperature checks on arrival by means of a thermal scanner, and will be required to wear a mask in both indoor and outdoor areas, regardless of social distancing. All information relating to the safety measures for containing the SARS-COV-2 contagion, and to the visiting arrangements, will be provided to visitors via monitors situated at the entrances, and via signs.
Visits will proceed in full compliance with the distancing measures detailed by the Scientific Technical Committee, and following the directions indicated by signs which have been specially installed in the Park. Hand sanitiser gel dispensers will be present at the entrance and at the toilets, for visitor use.
