Following the ongoing fire on Vesuvius, it is announced that at the moment the archaeological sites of Boscoreale and Pompeii will remain open to the public as usual. The Archaeological Park has been in constant contact with the local Government office since this morning. Any updates regarding changes to access to the sites will be announced through the Park's official online channels. "This is a painful moment for all those who love the Vesuvian area," said Pompeii’s director, Gabriel Zuchtriegel, "and we express our great appreciation to all the forces that are intervening to tame the flames in one of the most beautiful historical and natural areas in the world, extolled by poets and artists since the time of the ancient Romans."
