The layout of the house is not entirely clear, since only the area of the pseudo-peristyle (garden with columns), arranged along two arms, has been excavated.
Of particular note are the arches supported by brick columns, an architectural style which would become widespread in Roman buildings in the 2nd century AD. All of the rooms of the house are decorated with Fourth Style paintings, which in certain areas overlap earlier plasterwork. The lack of a portico on the northern side was compensated for by a garden painting, creating the illusion of a much larger space.
