The house, located in Via dell’Abbondanza and characterized by an unusual floor plan and a peristyle perpendicular to the entrance, is the result of many construction transformations. On the basis of a painting with a gladiatorial theme, brought to light in the vestibule and dating back to an earlier phase, the building was identified as the seat of an association of gladiators that had been turned into an actual house only in the last period. The main rooms open into the atrium. Among them is the triclinium, which is frescoed with mythological scenes depicting the feats of heroes. The house is named after the electoral inscriptions found at the entrance. On the upper floor, which is accessible through a separate entrance, the balcony on the façade is still intact. It probably housed the workshop of a manufacturer of wax tablets called a tabellarius. Large quantities of charred tablets were found in amid the building's rubble.
