POMPEII OPEN ALL DAYS FROM THE 7TH JUNE PORTA MARINA ENTRANCE REOPENS

Since reopening on the 27th April,the archaeological site of Pompeiihas witnessed an encouraging increase in visitor numbers: 26,000 visitors in May, and an increasing daily trend with over 2,000 visitors on weekends and public holidays.

In order to facilitate access to the site and encourage tourism, from the 7th June the site will be open to the public every day, for the entire summer period and until further notice.

The sites of Oplontis – The Villa of Poppaea, Libero D'Orsi Museum, Stabiae – Villa Arianna and Villa San Marco and Boscoreale – Villa Regina will be open every day except on Tuesdays.

At the same time the Porta Marina entrance will be reopened –along with the two entrances of Piazza Anfiteatro and Piazza Esedra – where the ticket offices will be operating.

Visits will proceed along routes recommended by special signs within the site, and also indicated on the My Pompeii app, in order to ensure a safe visit in full compliance with anti-COVID health provisions.

The Piazza Esedra entrance is recommended for those who wish to immediately access the Antiquarium of Pompeii, which was recently inaugurated with its new layout.

Entrance tickets can be purchased on the www.ticketone.itsite, which is the only officially authorised online retailer, or at the ticket offices located at the three entrance gates.

For visits on Saturdays and public holidays, tickets must be purchased no later than the day before the visit, online at the www.ticketone.itwebsite or by telephone at 0818575347 (exclusively on Fridays and Saturdays between 9:00 and 20:30), as per the Prime Ministerial Decree of the 2nd March 2021, art. 14.

Ticket prices:

Pompeii + Villa Regina (Boscoreale):

  • From 9:00 to 15:30: Full ticket €16.00–reduced rate € 2.00 –Free tickets and reductions as per regulations.
  • From 15:30: Full price €10 - reduced rate € 2.00 –Free tickets and reductions as per regulations.

The additional online advance sale fee is currently applicable only to the reduced rate ticket of €2.

 

The time slots established to limit visitor numbers will remain in place according to the following regulations:

At the time of purchasing online, the visitor will be able to select an entrance time slot, which will permit a maximum of 500 people to enter within every 15 minute period, until 13:00. After 13:00, a maximum of 300 people will be permitted per time slot.

For those in possession of the Pompei365 pass, its period of validity will be extended by the number of days corresponding to the duration of the site's closure as a result of the health emergency.

From Piazza Anfiteatro it is also possible to use the wheelchair-accessible ‘Pompeii for All’ route, with the option at the end of the visit to leave via Piazza Anfiteatro or via Piazza Esedra, using the lift in the Antiquarium.

Visitors will be subjected to temperature checks on arrival by means of a thermal scanner, and will be required to wear a mask in both indoor and outdoor areas, regardless of social distancing. All information relating to the safety measures for containing the SARS-COV 2 contagion, and to the visiting arrangements, will be provided to visitors via monitors situated at the entrances, and via signs.

Visits will proceed in full compliance with the distancing measures detailed by the Scientific Technical Committee, and following the directions indicated by signs which have been specially installed in the individual sites. Hand sanitiser gel dispensers will be present at the entrance and at the toilets, for visitor use.
