Notice for the visit to the Pompeii excavations   The Directorate of the Archeological Park of Pompeiiinforms that, on the occasion of the free day scheduled for May 8th - coinciding with the celebration of the Supplication to Our Lady of the Rosary, Patroness of the city - in order to avoid a excessive overcrowding of the excavations, reserves the right of closing hte access to the site, on reaching the 15,000 entries within 12.00 AM. The Park will reopen after two hours, to allow an adequate flow of visitors inside the site.     We invite you to take advantage of the accesses of Piazza Esedra and Porta Marina and avoid the entrance from Piazza Anfiteatro which could be particularly congested due to the simultaneous presence of pilgrims at the Sanctuar. We recommend the use of public transport, especially the circumvesuviana Line Naples - Sorrento, with a stop at Pompeii Villa of the Mysteries.
